NORTH TO ALASKA IN WINTER #2

TRAVEL AND PHOTOGRAPHY – BILL FERRYThe ferry system offers a fun and memorable way to travel to Alaska. The first photo in this post is called “Caterpiller People”. This time of year there are still a few hardy souls that choose to sleep in the ship’s solarium. It is inexpensive and fairly warm – note the ceiling mounted heaters. However, on this older ferry, anyone staying on this deck has to leave the shelter of the solarium, travel down an open deck to a door that will lead to the bathroom. The newer ships have a bathroom accessible from inside the shelter. Click here to read and see more of traveling by ferry in winter.
