Eureka California
Eureka is situated on the shores of Humboldt Bay along the spectacular Northern California coastline 280 miles north of San Francisco. It is bordered on one side by the bay, and on the other by mountains lush with giant redwoods. A few blocks off Highway 101 is their Old Town, where there are colorful Victorian mansions, impressive museums and a refurbished waterfront. Eureka is a magnet for artists, so photographs, paintings and sculpture abound in restaurants, bars and public spaces. Population: 27,191 as of the 2010 census.
