Fayetteville Arkansas


Fayetteville is home to the University of Arkansas and is located in the heart of the scenic Ozark Mountains. As the home base to Wal-Mart, Tyson Foods, and J.B. Hunt Transport, the unemployment rate here is significantly lower than the national norm and the city has a healthy economy. It has been recognized by Forbes magazine as one of the top five smaller towns to live and work in the country. A city truly dedicated to being “green”, Fayetteville created The Office of Sustainability, a rarity among small cities in the United States, in 2007 to partner with city divisions to promote and incorporate ecological practices into city projects and planning. Population: 73,580 based on 2010 census data.

Transportation:Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport, located in nearby Bentonville, provides air service, and Razorback Transit is a free bus system for getting around town.

Travel and tourism: The Razorbacks run wild here, so sports fans can enjoy the thrills of big time college athletics. Four seasons offer year round outdoor recreation opportunities. Retirees can get their exercise on the 16 miles of trails and greenways, or amuse themselves shopping or dining to live music on Dickson Street. A visit to the Clinton House Museum is mandatory for baby boomers, as is the “Billgrimage” which is an opportunity to see sites related to President Clinton’s time in Arkansas.
